In august of 2015, improv-guitarist Claus Boesser-Ferrari played at the “Akustiske Landskap-Internasjonal Gitarfestival” in Trondheim, Norway. Here he had a friendly encounter with the world famous lute virtuoso and accomplished ancient music expert Rolf Lislevand, whom Boesser-Ferrari had previously experienced live at an Enjoy Jazz Festival in 2006. They spontaneously played together in Lislevand’s concert which is documented on YouTube. They improvised a Bach cantata. Boesser-Ferrari is also familiar with Robert de Visées’ work, who composed for Ludwig XIV and to whom Rolf Lislevand (also!) dedicated his current album “La Mascerade”. At Enjoy Jazz, the passionate sound experimenter has played exciting borderline concerts with Marc Ribot (2007), Thomas Siffling (2011) and Jan Bang and Sava Stoianov (2013). For his next encounter with Rolf Lislevand, Boesser-Ferrari will also be offering his colleague something electronic, in contrast to the purely acoustical set in Trondheim.
