Enjoy Jazz is hosting its seventh concert in the dark at the “Schloss-Schule Ilvesheim” school. This school is a special place. It is the only special needs education and advice centre with a public boarding school in Baden-Württemberg. It offers children and adolescents with visual impairments specific individually tailored education programmes. The Concert in the Dark is an opportunity to visit it. The special thing about this event is that not only will the concert hall be in darkness but also the stage, and the pupils will bring guests to their seats. There are no distractions, no visual signals, just pure listening before and during the concert. This time, the Violet Quartet is performing. They are four violinists who have electronically enhanced their instruments and create unfamiliar sounds. The four virtuosos do not only play their instruments with different techniques but also with the rooms themselves, resonating with the spaces. The Violet Quartet promises a new listening experience between modern classical music, jazz and trance, which is, of course, enhanced in the darkness.
