Vocal jazz that switches from traditional to modern is still very popular! And it doesn’t always have to be Scat. For four years now, “New Jazz Voices”, a series curated by bassist Thomas Stabenow and drummer Holger Nesweda has regularly been presenting exiting new voices live in the region. Since 2015, Enjoy Jazz has offered this exciting series a platform at the Festival. A special guest this year is Ibadet Ramadani. She studied and also practiced vocal jazz and contemporary music in Amsterdam. This did not stop her from founding the pop band SUPER700 (four albums up to now!), sing in various jazz ensembles, tour the world on invitation by the Goethe Institute and co-create several film soundtracks. The three singers are being accompanied by pianist Rainer Böhm, who was awarded the Regional Jazz Award for Baden Württemberg in 2010 and won the soloist award at the New German Jazz Award Mannheim in 2016. Susanne Stein and Sarah Mokhtari-Serest will be performing during the first part of the evening. Sarah Mokhtari-Serest has been studying vocal jazz at the Music Academy Mannheim since 2014, and has sung in several ensembles, including the Enjoy Jazz School Big Band.
