His DJ sets are legendary: nd_Baumecker started deejaying in Frankfurt in the early 90ies—in Intimbar, Nachtleben and Dorian Gray, amongst others. He then moved to Heidelberg and Mannheim, where he co-developed Clubnacht HD800. He has been a resident DJ in Berlin Berghain for a few years. So he has a history, and a knack for exceptional mixes in which he creates something wondrous from the most heterogenic material. nd_Baumecker manages to capture the atmosphere of rooms and at the same time change them with his sets. Surprises are important to him—so that he himself does not get bored, and to also challenge his audiences. “I believe,” he once said, “that this best suits my style which is somewhere between disco, house, techno, broken beats and pop. It is very open for new things somewhere between ruthlessness and extreme tenderness.” The dance floor is his field for experimentation where he can try out almost everything. nd_Baumecker is guest at the Karlstorbahnhof event series “Fact or Fiction” running under a theme of dissolving boundaries and using the dancefloor as a stage for new forms of electronic music. Once could not wish for a better DJ for this programme.
