Erwin Ditzner has had the most performances at Enjoy Jazz. By far. This has little to do with the fact that he resides in the metropolitan region, and therefore does not require hotels or aeroplanes after his concerts. More relevant are the incredible number of highly interesting band projects. For example, current projects like Cobody and the Ditzner Lömsch Duo or older ones such as Coleümes, Mardi Gras.bb, the Barbara Lahr trio and the Ditzner/Gramss/Johannes Bauer trio. And at least as important: “Carte Blanche”, which Festival Director Rainer Kern verbally confirmed to Ditzner in 2008, following a concert with Sebastian Gramss and Rudi Mahall. Carte Blanche has reliably catered for spontaneous and exhilarating concerts ever since. With Marilyn Crispell, Alexander von Schlippenbach, Nils Wogram, Jeff Parker, Conny Bauer, Lömsch Lehmann, Lotte Anker, Louis Rastig. And by the way: precisely in 2008, Aki Takase and Silke Eberhard also played at Enjoy Jazz in other constellations. In 2017 they now stand together on stage – a request concert! And so, circles complete in 2017, which nobody would have guessed existed in 2008.
